Liverpool registers a 2-1 win over Southampton

Being the 61st game of the season for Jurgen Klopp’s boys, they were burnt out. Yet in that state of mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion they were ready to pay the price for their unparalleled success.  Liverpool has managed to beat Southampton and take the Premier League title race down to the final day of the season with a 2-1 victory. Now, the Champions League final will be played by them opposite Real Madrid on the horizon.

A defeat for Liverpool would mean that the title would be handed to Manchester City with just one more game remaining. Southampton got their early lead when Nathan Redmond gave a thrilling right-foot shot. That’s when Liverpool felt fear. But they managed to seal the first half with an equalizer, giving Klopp some hope.
