Liverpool's Mane secures jittery win over West Ham

Liverpool narrowly defeated West Ham in a game that wasn't very exciting, but it was enough to get the points and move them within three points of the top of the standings. After all of the concerns earlier in the week that our central options had been reduced to just four or five, seeing both Naby Keita and Curtis Jones in the starting lineup and on the bench was a pleasant surprise.

Even with the Champions League in midweek, Jurgen Klopp went strong everywhere else, with Ibrahima Konate replacing the ailing Joel Matip in a clear hint that the Premier League's unrelenting results must continue to occupy center stage. The Reds' whole first-hour dominance, however, flowed from here — a mauling in midfield, seldom giving up ground or simple possession, and dictating everything via the midfield trio throughout the game.
