Luka Modric will sign a new contract

Real Madrid must make some difficult choices about some of the present players in the group as they start a new era under new manager Xabi Alonso. As of right now, Lucas Vazquez is expected to move on at the end of the season and not receive a new contract offer.

Stars like Rodrygo Goes and David Alaba, who were formerly seen as essential members of the team, also have uncertain futures. The future of senior midfielder and team captain Luka Modric is another significant problem that Alonso and the management have had to deal with. Despite being 39 years old, the Real Madrid icon is one of the most heavily used players in the squad this season and his quality has shone through more often than not. As such, Joaquin Maroto of AS now reports that Real Madrid will renew Modric’s contract to keep him at the club for one more season.
