Lyon beat Montpellier in an epic 5-4 thriller

In an amazing 5-4 thriller, Alexandre Lacazette scored four goals, including a penalty in the 100th minute, to help Lyon defeat Montpellier. Montpellier's Elye Wahi scored four goals in quick succession to give his team a 4-1 lead after 55 minutes after Lacazette gave his team the lead in the 31st minute. The deficit was eventually closed by goals from Lacazette and Dejan Lovren, with Lacazette tying the score in the 82nd minute. And with just seconds left, the former Arsenal attacker scored the game-winning goal.

In the eighth minute of stoppage time, Lyon was given the penalty after the video assistant referee determined that Christopher Jullien had brought Lacazette to the ground in the penalty area. With four games left in Ligue 1, the outcome saw Lyon maintain its seventh-place position, three points outside of a Europa League qualification slot. Montpellier stayed in 12th place, 11 points above the bottom two spots.
