The Spanish coach praised Vinicius Junior for his commitment in helping out in defence and for his great opening goal. Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso spoke highly of Vinicius Junior's performance, who scored his team's first goal and set up the second in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Levante at the Ciutat de Valencia. "He was committed in defence, he was unstoppable on the ball and his goal was crucial in giving us confidence, composure and maturity to complete a great match," he said at a press conference.
The Real Madrid coach was adamant that the Brazilian's performance would not guarantee him a starting place on Saturday against Atletico Madrid: "I was only thinking about today's game and tomorrow we'll think about the next one."
