Mainz found an easy win against Augsburg

In the Bundesliga fixture, Mainz found their way back to winning ways as they beat Augsburg by 4-1. Hosts were leading by 3-0 in the first half itself as the match seemed almost over earlier than expected. Jonathan Burkardt was leading the side with two goals and an assist as he terrorized Augsburg’s defence. Karim Onisiwo was also not far behind with a goal and two assists. The win places Mainz back in the top half of the table while Augsburg struggles in the relegation zone. In the first half, Burkardt, Burkardt, Jean-Paul Boëtius, and Stefan Bell were very impressive on the field as they handed the team a three-goal lead.

Gikiewicz was working overtime as Mainz players kept coming in hot one after another taking their turns. Onisiwo then put the team at 4-0 in the 35th minute and after a successful first half took a short break. The visitors came back stronger and pulled one back later but could not touch Mainz lead any further.
