Mallorca had to rely on their keeper Manolo Reina for the goalless draw against Celta Vigo. In the Spanish league match, with high winds wailing on the Balearic Islands Celta was on the field without top scorer Iago Aspas after his accumulation on the yellow card got him suspended. Visitors then saw striker Santi Mina being carried off after he got stuck with a powerful ball that hit him in the head.

Celta had a lot of chances to score during the match, but could not get past Reina, Thiago Galhardo, Nolito Agudo and Brais Mendez all missed their opportunity. Winds changed the trajectory of long passes and made it difficult for the players to score. The team that stunned the defending champions 2-1 only in the last round could not see off Celta.
