Mallorca lost to Sevilla 2-1

Mallorca's 2-1 loss to Sevilla on Monday left them perilously near the Spanish league relegation zone. After three losses, Mallorca and Celta Vigo are tied for fourth place. With four games remaining, both teams are six points clear of Cadiz, who are in third place. Sevilla rose to 12th place, all but guaranteeing that they would remain in the top division for another year.

After 28 minutes, Nemanja Radonjic had a chance that was headed for goal, but Sergio Ramos made a great stop to give Mallorca the upper hand in the opening forty-five minutes. But in the second half, its incapacity to generate enough pressure ultimately came back to haunt it. Abdón Prats, the substitute, scored during stoppage time, but it was too little, too late for the visiting team.
