Mallorca secured a 1-1 draw against Sevilla

Mallorca scored a dramatic stoppage-time equalizer to secure a 1-1 draw against Sevilla in La Liga on Monday. The result moved Mallorca to eighth place, while Sevilla climbed to 11th. Sevilla took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Mallorca’s defense failed to clear a chip into the box, allowing Kike Salas to volley home from close range.

Mallorca responded deep into stoppage time when Sevilla goalkeeper Orjan Nyland dropped a hopeful cross under pressure from two Mallorca players. The ball fell to Martin Valjent, who fired through a crowded box to snatch a crucial point for the visitors. Despite Sevilla’s protests, the referee awarded the goal after a video review. The dramatic finish ensured both teams gained a point, keeping them within reach of higher positions in the La Liga standings.
