Man City’s bid for pole position gets a boost

Manchester City hammered out Newcastle United in a perfect manner to stay at the top of the Premier League table and enjoy a three-point lead over Liverpool. It was a big win for Cityzens who was just dealt with an agonizing Champions League exit. It was the double by Raheem Sterling and the efforts by Aymeric Laporte, Rodri and Phil Foden that gave the Pep Guardiola's side a 5-0 win on their way to the top of the table.

City has three more games left on the table to build a better goal difference over Liverpool who are a consistent threat on their way to winning the back-to-back title. Grealish later shared that the victory against an in-form Newcastle side was critical even after Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur.
