After strengthening their attack last summer, Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are planning to bolster their midfield in 2026. According to Fichajes, the club have identified Atletico Madrid’s Conor Gallagher as a priority target and are preparing a €60 million offer. The former Chelsea midfielder joined Atletico in 2024 after the Blues decided to sell him for financial reasons. Gallagher impressed in his debut season in Spain, making 50 appearances and contributing 10 goals across competitions.
Though not always a regular starter, he proved adaptable in both central and wide roles. Now, with United seeking more energy and creativity in midfield, Gallagher’s name has moved to the top of their shortlist. Atletico, however, must decide whether to keep him as part of Diego Simeone’s plans or cash in on the 24-year-old England international.
