Man Utd misery continues with another defeat

Manchester United’s poor 2024-25 season continued with another defeat, this time going down 2-0 to Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

It took just four minutes for Newcastle to breach the leaky Man Utd defence, but it came as no shock that it was Isak who scored it. The Swede scored for a sixth successive Premier League appearance and it was the eighth goal he’d scored in December 2024 – more than any other player in the competition.

Only 15 minutes later, Joelinton made it 2-0 to Newcastle, meeting a lovely Anthony Gordon cross with a header past André Onana. United only managed a single shot on target across the whole match.

Ruben Amorim has now lost six of his 11 games as United boss, the worst start by a manager of the club since Walter Crickmer in 1931-32, who lost 7 of his first 11.
