The Uruguay National team has this tradition of never giving up, they also have a tradition of being sore losers. You an just ask Luis Suarez how he has reacted when he is losing a game and see that they can't stand it. Last Sunday at Phoenix Arizona, Mexico was the better team during the Copa America opener, but the Uruguayans weren't as happy for the result as the Mexicans were. The Colombian manager celebrated the victory with a potent cheer, this is something that Gimenez from Uruguay didn't like one bit.
After the match, the Uruguay defender went over to the coach and verbally disrespected him, an incident that Osorio didn't let go. After the match at the media conference, Osorio accused Gimenez of being disrespectful: "He understood [the message] in his own way, and he came over to attack me after the game," Osorio said.
"Any coach in the world has the right to direct a game around the weak foot of any player. I used to say to the players when I was [assistant] at Manchester City to take advantage of David Beckham's weaker foot. I would like to say it again, like I said to him, it is a behavior that is disrespectful, inappropriate for a professional. He is playing at one of the best clubs in the world, Atletico Madrid, and one of the best national teams in the world, and this behavior cannot be accepted."
