Manchester United loanee drops hint on future

Manchester United's Di'Shon Bernard has admitted he might need another loan before bridging the gap to the club's first team.

Bernard, 20, joined United's academy from Chelsea in 2017 and, after steadily progressing in the Reds' youth set-up, it was decided he would go out on loan to League Two Salford last season - he made 30 appearances for the Class of '92 owned local club.

The youngster made his United first-team debut against Astana in the Europa League in November 2019, but he only made two substitute appearances for United in pre-season before it was announced that he would join Hull on loan.

Bernard has relished the challenge of playing in the Championship, but he might need another loan away from United before he can permanently break into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first team plans, as he explained.

“A loan is definitely what a young player needs," Bernard told BBC.
