Marcos Paulo set for January exit from Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid made significant investments in their squad during the summer transfer window, leaving little room for activity in the upcoming winter market. However, the focus is likely to be on departures, with one player almost certain to exit being Marcos Paulo. The Brazilian forward was loaned to Belgian club RWD Molenbeek during the summer, but his stint there was cut short, and he has since returned to Madrid.

Reports from Martin Sartorio (via MD) suggest that Paulo is set to depart in January, with Italian clubs Monza, Verona, and Genoa expressing strong interest in securing his services. Given Paulo’s lack of prospects at Atletico, his departure seems inevitable, whether in January or the summer. A move this winter appears logical for all parties, and Italy, with its competitive Serie A, could offer the 22-year-old a promising fresh start to his career.
