Manchester City have completed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as their new head coach, confirming the Italian as Pep Guardiola’s successor following the Spaniard’s departure at the end of the season. International reports state that Maresca has signed a three‑year contract running until June 2029, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Premier League champions. The agreement includes full involvement in shaping the club’s transfer strategy, a key element of City’s long‑term project after Guardiola’s exit.

Maresca is no stranger to the Etihad environment. He previously served as Guardiola’s assistant during the 2022–23 campaign, contributing to the historic treble‑winning season, and earlier worked within the club’s academy setup in 2020–21. His familiarity with City’s structure and footballing philosophy is seen as a major asset as the club transitions into a new era. The appointment signals continuity, stability and a clear commitment to maintaining the identity forged under Guardiola.
