Juventus has to find a successor for Brazilian defender Alex Sandro, who is expected to depart at the end of the current campaign. Juventus has a number of names on their list, but Hermoso—the Atletico Madrid defender—stands out as one of their main objectives. Juventus is keeping a close eye on his Madrid contract predicament as Atletico works to get him a new contract. Nonetheless, there are signs that the defender may become a free agent in the summer, which would suit Juventus' needs. The race to sign Hermoso has been more intense despite their desire.

According to a report on Tuttomercatoweb, Unai Emery is very interested in working with the defender, and Aston Villa is also considering signing him to improve their roster. Being a Premier League team, Aston Villa is renowned for its aspirations, and they intend to beat Juventus and other suitors to add Hermoso to their roster.
