After three back to back defeats Marseille was desperate for a win and went ahead 2-0 at the start against Lens with goals by Florian Thauvin and Arkadiusz Milik. For Milik it was his first goal for the club right before first half was about to end. But Lens made a comeback in the second half with Florian Sotoca cutting their lead in half right and Facundo Medina pushed in an equalizer as Lens made a comeback right at the hour mark. Marseille have been struggling to find a win and has won just 1 match in the last 10 games across the competition.

Andre-Villas-Boas in a shocking turn of events was suspended over player transfers and Nasser Larguet would be taking control temporarily while they look for a replacement. On the other side, Lyon is second on the table and are two points behind Lille after they won 1-0 against Dijon, Wissam Ben Yedder’s double pushed Monaco ahead 2-1 against Nice.
