Marseille maintains pressure on PSG

Marseille defeated Rennes 2-1 on Saturday in Brittany thanks to a goal from Adrien Rabiot in the second half, bringing them within four points of Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Ahead of the leaders' game against Saint-Etienne on Sunday, Marseille, vying for their tenth French championship but first since 2010, reduced the distance on defending champions PSG. In their previous six league games, Roberto De Zerbi's team has only lost by two points.

Arnaud Kalimuendo made no mistake as he collected the ball and fired into the corner to give the home team the lead. However, Michael Murillo's assist to Mason Greenwood, who scored his 11th Ligue 1 goal of the season, gave Marseille a vital equalizer before halftime. Rabiot, who made his debut three days after joining from Lens, headed Greenwood's cross beyond Rennes 'keeper Brice Samba to seal the visitors' comeback less than four minutes after the restart.
