The news came as a relief to Marseille fans and the Algerian national team.
Amine Gouiri, who was carried off the field after a violent clash with Salim Magula during Algeria's match against Uganda (2-1, October 14), has successfully undergone surgery on his right shoulder.
"The surgery went well. Thank you all for your messages and support. See you later," the 25-year-old forward wrote on his Instagram story on Monday.
The former Rennes and Nice player will be out of action for several weeks. Without a quick recovery and restoration of playing form, it is highly unlikely that he will be able to play for the Algerian national team at the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Morocco (December 21, 2025 - January 18, 2026).
As a reminder, Amine Gouiri joined Marseille from Rennes this winter for 19 million euros.
