The session led by Martínez was scheduled at Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras, with the first 15 minutes being open to the media.

In his first call-up, the 49-year-old coach made Diogo Leite's debut and also called up Gonçalo Inácio, as well as 'veterans' Pepe (40 years old) and Cristiano Ronaldo (38 years old).

However, the FC Porto centre-back missed the 'dragons' last games, due to injury, and ended up being excluded on Sunday from the selection's squad, thus reduced to 25.

In the debut of Group J qualifying for Euro2024, which will take place in Germany, Portugal faces Liechtenstein, on March 23, at Estádio José Alvalade, in Lisbon, playing three days later in Luxembourg.

The grouping also includes Iceland, Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
