Playing in front of their home fans who needed nothing but a win knowing that will wrap up the league title, the home team attacked their opponents from the onset.
The incessant attack from Aduana however did not scare Elmina Sharks as the visitors got the first goal through Tweneboah Benjamin in the 44th minute after a good display from Felix Addo.
Aduana Stars upon resumption continued the game from where they left off in the first half when they kept pushing their opponents for the equalizer. Rashid Alhassan was on hand to finally get the equalizer in the 58thminute sending the entire township of Dormaa into a frenzy.
In the 88th minute of the game, Aduana Stars were awarded a penalty much to the chagrin of Elmina Sharks who themselves are fighting to stay away from relegation.
Sam Adams stepped up and confidently converted the spot kick sending the ball into the roof of the net. And so after a seven year wait, Aduana Stars have won the Ghana Premier League only for the second time in their history.
Aduana Stars have in previous seasons tried to win the league for the second time but to no avail. Last season, Wa All Stars beat them to the title after a hot title chase that was only decided during penultimate games of the season.
Aduana Stars will end their title winning season at Len Clay in the final round of games where their trophy will be handed to them.
