Messi and Suarez take Sevilla

It was arguably one of the best matches in all of European football we've seen lately, almost no controversy and very competitive between FC Barcelona and Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium. After last summer's UEFA Supercup fiasco where manager Jorge Sampaoli was battered by the Catalan club, this time he felt that an improved Sevilla would have a greater chance of winning the match. But whenever Leo Messi is on point, there is simply no stopping him.

Regardless of this, Sampaoli's method gave him an early lead in the 15th minute of the match. Vitolo broke free and slid the ball past Ter Stegen who got managed to get a hand on it but wasn't able to stop it going in. This was perfect for Sevilla, but Leo Messi and Barcelona weren't going to give up that easily, the Argentine had an ace under his sleeve which would come just two minutes before the half-time whistle.

It was a lightning counter-attack between Denis Suarez and Neymar which allowed Messi to rifle home from the edge of the box. This was the equalizer right before half-time in a moment where Sevilla had dominated most of the chances but wasn't able to get that second goal. Being so indulgent allowed Barcelona to get that goal. But the second half was going to be one of the best 45 minutes we've seen in football so far, both clubs really went at it and boy did they make us enjoy.

Sevilla kept failing chances, it would be a single action the deciding factor for this match, the moment came with 30 minutes left on the clock. It was a great run from Messi who Opened up the Sevilla defense and laid the ball off perfectly for Luis Suarez to beat goalkeeper Rico. At the very last minute of the match, Umtiti appeared to commit a penalty the ref decided not to call, this sparked the anger amongst fans. But Barcelona deserved this win against a brave Sevilla.
