Mihajlovic wishes Donnarumma didn't exist

At only 17-years of age, goalkeeper Gianluigi Bonnarumma is already becoming a world-class goalkeeper with many important saves during AC Milan's 3-2 victory with a Carlos Bacca hat-trick. However, the lad's performance was the main reason why Milan didn't lose this Serie A opener at San Siro. Former AC Milan manager Sinisa Mihaijlovic who is currently coaching Torino, spoke to the press about regretting the goalie's discovery.

Talking to Sky Sport Italia, Sinisa joked: "If I had known he was going to save the penalty, I wouldn't have given him his debut. I smiled because I knew 'Gallo' was going to miss. Unfortunately, I'm almost always right. I went to reassure him afterwards, these things happen and the next time we get a penalty he won't be taking it. I don't want to seek excuses, all teams have injured players and ours would be different with them in it, but that's natural. We made individual errors and that is what cost us."

Donnarumma saved a penalty that could've meant not winning the match for AC Milan, his progression is without question, one of the most exciting news in Italian football today. It shall be interesting to watch him grow at AC Milan and see if he has everything it takes to replace a historic goalkeeper such as Gianluigi Buffon. Donnarumma has the talent and the prowess without any question.
