Internazionale Milano is currently going through a renaissance which has come after the very important victory against Juventus last week. Their good run extended to Wednesday when they defeated Empoli, the main responsible for both wins is none other than Argentine striker Mauro Icardi. The number 9 is arguably one of Inter's best players of the last five years, the club depends a lot n what he may be able to accomplish this season.
Just like he is doing right now, his performances mirror those of a compatriot of his from six years ago. The also striker Diego Milito who became an Inter legend as he scored the deciding goals for every single title the club won back in the 2009-2010 season when Inter won Italian football's first ever treble. The former striker spoke to Inter Channel about the importance Icardi has to the club today, much like he did back in the day.
He said: "The Juventus win has definitely given us a big lift. We needed a performance like that and I'm pleased that the team are becoming more consistent. Icardi finishes off Inter's moves but they're by no means a one-man team, there are some quality players in the side. [Ever] Banega is a leader on the pitch, he's a great player with real ability. I hope Inter can finish as high as possible, although we must remember that they're a new team with a new coach."
