Monaco confirm impending Paul Pogba return

Pogba has yet to feature since joining Monaco back in June. Prior to the signing of a two-year deal with the Principality club, he had not played for nearly two years due to a doping ban. Upon his arrival, La Pioche began a three-month programme to bring him back to match sharpness.

It had been touted that the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder could have played against SCO Angers earlier this month, however, he suffered a minor setback. But Pocognoli, speaking after Les Monégasques’ 5-3 win over FC Nantes on Wednesday, confirmed that Pogba’s return is imminent, after it had been reported earlier in the day that a return to the matchday squad this weekend was a possibility.

“It is possible that he will be in the squad, yes,” stated Pocognoli. Pogba’s last official game came on 3rd September 2023, in a match he played for Juventus, against Empoli.
