Without Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain lacked their usual charm as they fall against Monaco with a 3-1 disheartening loss in Ligue 1 on Saturday. Monaco took the opportunity and climbed closer to PSG on the table, with Wissam Ben Yedder’s double and Aleksandr Golovin’s early efforts.
The match opened dramatically with Yedder ready to trouble the Paris giants. Monaco took the lead in the fourth minute, with Yedder getting past three defenders to set up the shot for Golovin who smoothly found the back of the net past PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Monaco then doubled the lead 14 minutes later when Yedder scored his first goal of the day with a great assist by Krepin Diatta who dispossessed El Chadaille Bitshiabu easily. PSG answered with a thundering shot by midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery until Yedder gave his side a two-goal lead with a curling shot off the post to score his 14th goal of the season.
