Erling Haaland scored twice to continue Monaco's explosive start to the season, but Eric Dier's calm penalty in the final minute secured Monaco a Champions League tie against Manchester City. Haaland extended City's winning streak to six games with a first-half double, bringing his total to 52 goals in just 50 competition outings.
However, Dier's penalty kick following Nico Gonzalez's kick to the head in the 90th minute put the visitors behind. After going 15 minutes without touching the ball, Norway's Haaland caught a dinked pass from Josko Gvardiol and floated a nice finish over the charging Philipp Kohn. Jordan Teze equalised just three minutes later with a thunderbolt strike from outside the area, which arrowed into the top corner and gave Gianluigi Donnarumma no chance.
