According to a number of reports, Albert Gudmundsson will join Fiorentina on Friday from Genoa, which may allow Nico Gonzalez to sign a contract with Juventus. With the start of the 2024–25 season this weekend, the domino effect in the Serie A transfer market is poised to explode over the next 24 hours. Gudmundsson's transfer from Sassuolo had been put on hold as Genoa looked for a successor. However, they now appear optimistic that Andrea Pinamonti will join on loan for €2 million with a €14 million buyout option.

Sportitalia claims that even if Wolves rejected Fabio Silva's request for a loan, talks will still go forward for him. According to reports from Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia, Genoa has granted Gudmundsson the go-ahead to join Fiorentina on Friday. The loan is anticipated to cost €8 million, with a further €3.5 million in add-ons.
