Nainggolan blamed Monchi for Roma's failures

Monchi is well known for his good work at Sevilla over the years, but the same cannot be said abroad. His time at Roma did not go as well and not everyone has great memories of him.

Radja Nainggolan, who was at Roma for five seasons, slammed the current Sevilla sporting director.

"The other man (Monchi) came as a sporting director and ruined the team. I can't even name him. If I knew that he would leave shortly afterwards, I'd have stayed. If I returned to Rome now, I could ruin a marvellous memory I have," Nainggolan told 'Tradicion romanista'.

The Belgian believes that Monchi undid all the good work that had been done up to that point: "We had very strong players and then we sold them. These things happened every year because of the budget. If you want to get strong players, you have to keep them".
