Napoli beats Braga to earn three points

Napoli marked their return to Europe's top club tournament with a trip to Portugal. They faced Braga team that finished third in their domestic league last season. At the scenic Estádio Municipal, Napoli beat the team with 2-1 to earn three points in the Group stage. While Braga hoped to make their comeback to the top competition after eleven years a success they were left empty-handed after the late drama instead.

Napoli found their opener a little late with some help from Giovanni Di Lorenzo but Braga leveled the score in the second half with Bruma’s goal. Unfortunately for Braga, later in the match, Piotr Zieliski's cross found Sikou Niakaté and he sent the ball sliding into his own net, leaving Braga with zero points. The home supporters did praise Matheus' amazing goalkeeping efforts, including a one-on-one save against Victor Osimhen.
