Napoli have reportedly expressed interest in Lisandro Martinez

Serie A champions Napoli have reportedly expressed interest in Lisandro Martinez, although he has no plans to leave Manchester United. Martinez may not play again until 2026 as he recovers from a cruciate ligament injury he sustained in February.

Nevertheless, rumours in Italy indicated that Napoli was interested in the Argentine international as they sought to increase their defensive alternatives. Scott McTominay was acquired by the Italian powerhouses from United last summer for a remarkably low price of £25 million. After that, McTominay led Antonio Conte's team and scored 12 goals as Napoli defeated Inter Milan to win the championship. The Daily Mail claims Martinez is more than content at Old Trafford and has no desire to go, so Napoli is unlikely to pull off the same ruse this time.
