West Ham made a lot of additions to their roster last summer, but after a terrible season, they already need to rebuild. The Hammers underperformed on the pitch despite spending a lot of money on high-profile acquisitions, and Graham Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui halfway through the season. In order to bring in new players this summer, West Ham must now clear off some of its roster, and they have already announced a number of departures.
Among them is Carlos Soler, who returned to Paris Saint-Germain after a loan stint but may already have a plan in place for his future transfer. Soler was one of several inconsistent performers for West Ham throughout the season, having arrived as a fairly big name last summer. The former Valencia midfielder could not quite cut it at European Champions PSG, but although tidy, he did not catch the eye at West Ham.
