Nesta is impressed by Totti

Throughout the years, Francesco Totti has played against some of the best defenders in Italian football's history. His career spans throughout 20 years and yet he is still going strong and willing to keep going until he breaks the all-time scoring record that Silvio Piola still possesses. Many players who are his age today have been retired for a few years, one of those is Alessandro Nesta, who was one of the best defenders in the world for a long time.

Talking to Omnisport, Nesta said how amazed he is with Totti: "He [Totti] is my age. I am here coaching [at Miami FC], he is there playing. Still playing well, not only playing. He is special and equipped with extraordinary capabilities that at 40 let him have fun and make the others have fun."

The defender also spoke about how crucial this weekend's Roman derby will be, he played for Lazio back in the day and knows exactly how big this game is: "Both are very important. I played 10 years in one place and 10 years in the other. Lazio was the club in my heart, I grew up there but Milan then let me win."
