Newcastle defeated Nottingham Forest 3-2

Newcastle defeated Nottingham Forest 3-2 on Saturday, moving up to seventh place in the Premier League thanks to two goals from Bruno Guimaraes, including the game-winning goal in the 66th minute. To cap off an exciting match at the City Ground, the Brazil midfielder curled home a finish after intercepting a ball out of the back.

In the tenth minute, Guimaraes gave Newcastle the lead by volleying in a long cross from Kieran Trippier; however, in the twenty-sixth, Anthony Elanga broke through the visitors' defence, latching onto a ball from Morgan Gibbs-White to equalize. Callum Hudson-Odoi's deflected goal in the 43rd minute gave Forest a second chance to equalize, but Fabian Schar's double versus Aston Villa the previous week gave Forest the lead back. Although Forest managed to maintain two points and two spots above the relegation zone.
