Newcastle effortlessly extends Manchester United's losing streak

Newcastle easily won 2-0 at Old Trafford to conclude Manchester United's 2024 to-remember campaign with a fourth straight loss, raising more questions about Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim. Amorim said last week that unless things start to get better, his career is in jeopardy, just two months into his position.

Only two of the Portuguese's first nine league games have been victories, leaving United in 14th place, seven points above the relegation zone. Joelinton and Alexander Isak both scored goals in the opening 19 minutes as the Magpies won for the fifth time in a row. Isak scored for the sixth straight Premier League game a little over three minutes into the encounter when he was given a chance inside the six-yard box to head in Lewis Hall's cross. Joelinton rushed in to meet Anthony Gordon's pass to give Newcastle a second goal.
