Newcastle United defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1

Newcastle United defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at Molineux on Sunday to take third place in the Premier League after rallying from a halftime deficit with two long-range goals in the final five minutes. While Wolves were chasing their first league victory of the season, Wolves captain Mario Lemina had given the hosts the lead at the half. However, Fabian Schar's speculative attempt took a deflection to pull Newcastle level.

Although Schar's goal in the 75th minute may have had some luck involved, Harvey Barnes' incredible victory five minutes later was not the result of chance. Both goals, which came from beyond the penalty area, drastically altered the result after the Wolves had controlled the majority of the match. With just one point from their first four league games of the season, Wolves is still in the bottom three.
