Newcastle United are 'frustrated' after their £50 million offensive pair were ruled out due to 'strange' ailments. Newcastle United are dealing with a lot of injuries ahead of games against Manchester United, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and Bournemouth. Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has expressed his disappointment at the loss of both Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes to "very bizarre" injuries.
Howe is presently missing eight senior players from their squad and the situation is unlikely to improve for subsequent Premier League and Champions League games against Arsenal at home and Borussia Dortmund away. Conversations between Howe and Newcastle's medical team are ongoing in order to assess whether Murphy needs surgery. The winger injured his shoulder last week against Dortmund and will miss the visit to Old Trafford after missing Saturday's 2-2 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
