Newcastle United have made headway with their first summer signing. Magpies have reportedly agreed to sign one of the brightest young players. Newcastle would have the highly-rated defender Alex Murphy in their squad at the end of the summer.
The Galway United starlet has been the target of Shamrock Rovers, Celtic, Brighton, and Torino as well but Newcastle United won the race and would have Murphy move to Tyneside when he turns 18 this summer. The player would get a chance to join Peter Ramage’s under-18s squad or Elliott Dickman’s under-23s. Murphy is being called a versatile defender and would be a good addition to the squad that has been struggling in Premier League.
