Neymar is proud to be compared with Marta

Far from feeling offended by all the comparisons taking place between him and Brazilian female star Marta, Neymar was humble when he was asked about the constant comparisons between both of them. The Barcelona player recognized that Marta is one of the best football players in Brazilian football history, he felt deeply honored by all the comparisons and praised the star. this proves that Neymar is far from that image everybody wants to sell of him, his response was pure gold.

Talking to reporters after the victory against Denmark, Neymar said: "We wanted to win from the beginning, but sometimes the results do not reach the targets. I know it's hard, but I ask the fans to be patient and do not criticize. Support us because that's what we need – love and help from the people. Marta is a great player, the best in the world. She is proud to be Brazilian and represents us, not only in Brazil but also outside. I hope we succeed and win gold in women's football. I am very happy to be compared with Marta, who is the best in the world."

After not being able to make a huge difference in the first two Brazil matches, the Barcelona star finally appeared in the third game to lead his teammates to victory. Despite not being able to score goals, he was an active participant in all four of them and became a true skipper during such a difficult moment. Now that Brazil has grabbed their ticket to the next round, Neymar expects to improve and start scoring those goals with his national team.
