Nottingham Forest picked up their first Premier League victory

The City Ground crowd went crazy when Wood, a substitute, guided a header beyond United keeper Wes Foderingham. Early in the second half, Gustavo Hamer, making his debut for Sheffield United, scored a stunning goal to give the freshly promoted team hope. Hamer, who joined from Coventry City last Friday, scored his first goal for the new team with a strike from the edge of the box into the top corner. After falling behind 1-0 early on, United substantially improved and levelled two minutes and eight seconds after the break.

The reason that Steve Cooper's team finished in the league last year was largely due to Nottingham Forest's home performance. This time, it may be crucial. In front of a boisterous crowd, a dominant first half performance that should have resulted in more than one goal featured Brennan Johnson, who was especially active on the counterattack.
