Crystal Palace has opened negotiations with French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta regarding a new contract, amid growing interest from several clubs in signing him in the near future.
Although talks have begun, no agreement has been reached yet. However, Palace's management is handling the situation calmly and without concern, especially since the 28-year-old player is still under contract for more than 18 months.
The club's desire to renew his contract comes with the aim of securing the player and preventing his loss, given his continuous brilliance and the attention he is attracting both within the Premier League and beyond.
It is worth mentioning that Mateta played 171 matches for Crystal Palace in all competitions, scoring 54 goals and providing 12 assists.
