Paris Saint-Germain defeated Borussia Dortmund 1–1

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Borussia Dortmund 1–1 on Wednesday to advance to the Champions League knockout stage thanks to a goal from Warren Zaire-Emery. Five minutes after Karim Adeyemi had given Dortmund the lead, the 17-year-old Zaire-Emery scored the equaliser. However, PSG also had AC Milan to thank for defeating Newcastle 2-1 in the other Group F game.

Due to Newcastle's defeat, PSG moved up to second place and will now play with qualified Dortmund in the upcoming round. Milan, on the other hand, passed Newcastle to finish third and go to the Europa League knockout round. When Kylian Mbappé shot past Gregor Kobel inside the far post in the 72nd minute, he felt he had given his team the lead and eliminated Dortmund from the group. However, a VAR assessment determined that the goal was offside. Early on, both teams squandered many opportunities.
