Paulo Dybala leads Roma to their third consecutive victory

Roma won their third consecutive Serie A game under Daniele De Rossi on Monday at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to two goals from Paulo Dybala. The capital club, who fired previous manager Jose Mourinho last month, raised their prospects of qualifying for the Champions League by closing the gap to fourth-place Atalanta in the Italian first-division standings. The team had stabilized the ship with previous 2-1 victories over bottom team Salernitana and struggling Verona, but this was an even stronger showing as Cagliari was blasted away.

In just the second minute of play, Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the score and later he also set up Paulo Dybala for Roma's second goal. Less than five minutes into the second half, Roma was awarded a spot-kick for a handball, and Dybala took it to score his eighth league goal of the year.
