Gerard Pique can be considered as one of the best centre backs in football today, he has faced many opponents throughout his career but luckily for him he hasn't really had to play against Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez that much. During the second part of an interview he did with Unscriptd, Pique avoided his three teammates and talked shop for a while. According to Pique, some of the best players he's ever had to play against are the following.
First of all he mentioned Didier Drogba who made him feel miserable whilst playing against Chelsea. During the 2011-2012 season he was eliminated by Drogba's team: "One of the best strikers I've seen. He had had everything: pace, he was strong, good in the air, he knew how to dribble, both legs [feet]… he was amazing."
Then Pique spoke about Bayern's Robert Lewandowski, who is currently among the best strikers in the world and has also made Pique feel very uncomfortable while facing each other: "He's tall, he can use both legs [feet] and he's good in the air. It's really tough when you have to mark players that can do everything, because you can't expect him to always do this thing. No, he changes, and that's really difficult for the defender when you don't know what they will do."
Finally, perhaps the best player he's ever played against apart from Messi who he's faced while playing for Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo who has defeated him and scored many goals against Barcelona when Pique is defending the Catalan club during a Clasico or playing for Portugal: "I had to face him many times and he is one of the best players in the history of this sport. He's really complete. He knows how to score, how to assist, how to shoot free-kicks, penalties… he can do everything."
