Pisa and Verona remain winless after sharing the spoils in a tense relegation battle. Pisa, bottom with just two points, missed Idrissa Touré through suspension and several others to injury, while Verona welcomed back Nicolas Valentini but lost Armel Bella-Kotchap to the treatment table. Giovane was Verona’s liveliest threat, seeing one shot deflected inches wide and another blocked, before Fallou Cham missed his assist.

M’Bala Nzola then headed a Mehdi Leris cross off target, while Stefano Moreo went close with a free header just over the bar. Pisa grew into the game after the break, with Cham forcing Adrian Semper into a smart near-post save. Despite half-chances for both sides, neither found the composure to turn pressure into points, leaving their wait for a first league win of the season to continue.
