After being able to win their second straight Copa America against Argentina, the Chilean national team is entering a new chapter in this golden generation's incredible story. But all that is in the past now, they have to look forward and think about the next two World Cup qualifiers at Paraguay and against Bolivia. Manager Juan Antonio Pizzi is aware of how complicated it can get to ground players who have won so many trophies recently, but he believes he has the way to control them.
He said: "I think that Paraguay will blend the base they already have with the natural motivation that comes with a new manager. Opponents with new managers are an unknown quantity. We will have a very difficult match against Paraguay. We must rid ourselves of the medal that we won and humbly seek new results. I am convinced that if we compete in the way we can, we will win."
The boss also talked about Claudio Bravo's injury absence, he confirmed that Toselli will be the one taking his place against Paraguay: "Cristopher Toselli will be the goalkeeper to face Paraguay. When Claudio Bravo is not playing, the captain is Gary Medel. He has my backing and is worthy of carrying the armband."
