PSG and Monaco stick to a 1-1 draw

Following a VAR review, Neymar's penalty in the 70th minute negated Kevin Volland's goal in the 20th. To start the season, Neymar, Messi, and Mbappe had been unstoppable, but for this match, the trio left their shooting boots at home. Despite controlling the match from the opening whistle, PSG was unable to score, partly because of Alexander Nübel's heroics in goal. The Parisians' best opportunity came in the opening period when Mbappe missed the obvious goal with his rebound after Messi's drive clanged off the right crossbar and into his path.

In the 20th minute, Kevin Volland gave his team the lead by slipping the ball home behind the Paris defence, but he was forced to leave the game with an injury. In the second half, the same pattern was repeated as PSG continued to miss opportunities before Neymar was hauled down in the box.
