With all the rumors going around Paul Pogba's next destination this summer, there are many pundits and former players who have been very vocal about the real scope of the French midfielder. To people like Gary Lineker who has always given his opinion on the latest news in football for the past decade, Pogba is actually an overrated player who doesn't deserve to be as expensive as his agent Mino Raiola has him on the market.
And the thing is, Mino Raiola is attempting to sell Pogba for the staggering price of €165 million to the highest bidder, a completely insane amount that breaks the market. It's very unlikely that any club in the world would pay more than €100 million for a player who still has a lot to prove at the highest level. Only if Pogba becomes instrumental for France this summer at the Euros, will he be considered among the very best in the world alongside other stars such as Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Luis Suarez.
Bu after Lineker tweeted about Pogba, Raiola spoke to Rai about the situation: "When someone is paid to talk about something, that doesn't mean he knows what he is talking about. Lineker is one of those. When Gary Lineker talks about Pogba, he hasn't the slightest idea what he is talking about. I remember he said if Claudio Ranieri won the Premier League title with Leicester City, he would present his show in his underpants. That tells you everything.
"Considering the qualities Paul has and the prices I see around Europe, I think Paul is underrated. How much is he worth? The maximum amount a club is prepared to pay for him. Just look at a player who is on the bench of Belgium and Marseille [Michy Batshuayi], but is being sold for €40m [to Chelsea]."
