Real Madrid also say goodbye to Hazard

Eden Hazard announced his retirement on Tuesday after failing to find another club following his release by Real Madrid. The 32-year-old endured an injury-plagued spell at Madrid after his 89-million-pound move from Chelsea in 2019, playing just 76 matches in all competitions across four seasons.

Nevertheless, the La Liga club wished to bid farewell to the Belgian striker in a statement. "Real Madrid would like to wish Eden Hazard and his family all the best in this new chapter of his life," they wrote on their website.

"Following Eden Hazard's announcement that he will retire from professional football, Real Madrid C. F. would like to express its gratitude and warmth to a player who signed for our club in 2019 and who, during the four seasons that he belonged to our team, won 8 trophies."
